Thinking Of You, verse # 1

Thinking Of You…..

Today, as I walked,
rays from the sun danced on dewy leaves,
reminding me of you.

Happy Halloween, verse #1

Happy Halloween…

Trick-or-treaters go to every door
dressed in costume of want-to-be or to humor or to fright,
requesting candy to fill their bags they walk for miles,
until finally falling into sugar coated dreams on Halloween night.

Happy Anniversary, verse #1

Happy Anniversary…

Rest your head upon my heart
and know it beats for you,
know my love for you is here
until our days are through,
and as we change and as we grow
and years shall come to pass,
know my heart will never change,
my love for you will last,
and as we age older still,
I will comfort you,
until my heart shall beat no more,
my heart shall beat for you.

Daylight Savings Time, verse #1

Daylight Savings Time…

Just a short note, so you won’t be late,
the time changes at one, or two, or three, I think,
somewhere in the night, when no one’s awake,
the time magically changes, like darkness to day,
the time gains by an hour, or maybe it’s lose,
clocks must be changed, so maybe we choose,
but it happens on Sunday, there just in time,
when Monday arrives, we know not the time,
so there while you brush or eat or you groom,
be sure to keep the radio on in the room,
it’s there that you’ll hear the correct time of the day,
so you’ll know when to rush and get out on your way.

Merry Christmas, verse #1

Merry Christmas…

Fire engine—red,
a bike, a blue-eyed doll,
each year we made our list
hoping Santa would bring it all;
now we’re a little older,
our lists aren’t quite the same,
now we help Santa fill the bags
but without the elves or sleigh;
so, here’s hoping your season’s merry,
here’s hoping your day is bright,
I’m sure you’ll be doing the same thing
I’ll be doing on Christmas Eve night;
trying without reading instructions,
then finally giving in,
and muttering underneath our breath
that we’ll never do this again;
it really looked so easy,
the bike just had two wheels,
who knew there could be so many pieces,
to something meant to bring a thrill;
but like Dad did for us,
we will do the same,
just for the expression on little faces
on the morning of Christmas Day;
and when we see the excitement
we can check that off our list
we got just what we wanted,
what was on our Christmas list;
So, have a Merry Christmas,
and a glorious holiday,
may you get everything on your list this year,
on this Christmas Day.
