At the start of spring,
coming with the flowers and the rain,
is a day of pranks and jests,
but take this as true,
as true as the golden rule,
I wish you the very best,
and hope that your day is spent
with loved ones and with friends
in a fun-filled sunny day,
with blissful peace,
and sweet memories
on this foolish April Day.

There have been days
when people have claimed
to have changed math or maps,
all just in fun,
no harm meant done,
just a joke meant to bring on a laugh,
and some have tried
with screams or with cries
to convince another to run
to an address not existing,
they just couldn’t resist it,
on this day meant for fools and for fun,
but don’t bother to worry,
you won’t have to scurry,
for I’ll neither trick you nor fool,
I just wanted to tell you
that I happen to wish you
the happiest of all April Fools.

For centuries, at the start of spring,
when the flowers begin to bloom,
some souls take pride in a ritual
of playing jokes on fools,
but when all is said and done
and laughter has ended the game,
the ones at risk of looking the fool
are the ones who play the pranks,
so with all in mind on this April day,
the wish I wish for you,
on the first, this day of hoax,
is a safe and happy April Fool’s.
